Our premier startup client in San Francisco is aggressively seeking a senior-level Hardware Engineer to develop and design hardware systems for various autonomous construction vehicles. This startup organization needs a Hardware Engineer that is passionate about robotics and automation technologies. This unique blend of AI and ML technology will be pivotal in seamlessly developing futuristic autonomous construction vehicles.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop teleoperation hardware systems, including power, compute, and control modules for heavy machinery retrofits.
- Integrate and calibrate sensors such as cameras, LiDARs, radars, GNSS, and IMUs.
- Create wiring harnesses and mounting systems for sensors, actuators, and control electronics.
- Implement and validate communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, J1939, Ethernet and Serial.
- Support system bring-up and hardware-in-the-loop testing alongside software and embedded engineers.
Requirements:
- MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or similar industry experience.
- 5+ years of successful experience designing and developing hardware systems for autonomous vehicles.
- Experience with Electrical + Mechanical integration (wiring harnesses, power systems, sensor mounting, DFM and prototype testing).
- Must have the following tech stack experience with sensor integration: ROS2, Computer Vision, LiDAR radar, GNSS/RTK, IMUs interfaces.
- Camera and sensor design interface experience is required.
- Willingness to travel to various construction sites.
- Must have the desire and grit to work in a fast paced startup environment.
Salary Range:
- $200K – $300K
- Startup Equity (Stock Options)
Relocation and Visa Requirements:
- Strongly prefer candidates that reside in the San Francisco Bay Area.
- Will provide relocation assistance to the right candidate (that resides in the United States).
- Will transfer H1-B Visa to candidates (that resides in the United States).
- All candidates MUST reside in the United States.
