Our Artificial Intelligence client in Silicon Valley is seeking a Director of Hardware Engineering to manage and provide direction to small team of Hardware Design Engineers (Analog and Digital), Board Design Engineers, Firmware Engineers, and Mechanical Engineers. This role will be responsible for the following:
- Define and own the hardware design roadmap and navigate the tradeoffs between performance, quality, time to market, and cost.
- Lead customer and partner technical interface meetings, discussions, and follow-ups.
- Responsible for the successful delivery of their next generation AI-centric hardware products including architecture, design, development, test, and integration.
- Lead, develop and grow a highly technical hardware team with a passion for shipping products within the AI and Semiconductor Industry.
- Some international travel will be required to define system level solutions, lead systems level integration, and validate performance after integration.
Requirements
- Ph.D. or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent education experience.
- 10+ years of complex hardware design engineering experience in areas of CPU and SoC design.
- 5+ years of Electrical/Hardware Engineering leadership/management experience.
- Industry experience in Artificial Intelligence and Machine/Deep Learning.
- Cross-functional interface experience across software, product and semiconductor manufacturing teams.
- Proven success in shipping complex electrical systems on time and within budget.
- Excellent communication, presentation and influential experience.
- Ability to travel to various international countries for systems integration.
