Our premier San Francisco-based Cryptocurrency startup client is hiring a Founding Full-Stack Engineer to be responsible for for defining, building, and maintaining the technical foundation of their platform. You will join a fast-paced, high-ownership environment where you will take ownership of everything, from architecture and implementation to production reliability for mission-critical services. You will partner directly with founders and early customers to translate real-world requirements into robust, high-quality products.
Note: All candidates MUST have at least 5 years of industry experience for this role. We are not currently accepting recent college graduates at this time. All candidates MUST currently live in the United States.
Responsibilities:
- Full Stack & End-to-End – Design, implement, and operate complete services and user-facing features, from requirements gathering through production support.
- System Design & Architecture – Develop highly available, event-driven systems for ledgering, compliance, and risk that scale with transaction volume while maintaining zero downtime.
- Implementation Engineering – Embed with customers, collect feedback, and iterate rapidly to ensure our roadmap aligns with user needs.
- Technical Decision-Making – Balance speed and long-term scalability, selecting appropriate technologies (Next.js/TypeScript, C#, Go, Python, modern cloud infrastructure) for each problem domain.
Requirements:
- BS/MS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or similar education and experience.
- 5+ years of full-stack experience (50% front-end/50% back-end).
- Ideal candidates should have previous startup experience with a fintech, payments or compliance organization.
- Proficiency with front-end development with Next.js and TypeScript.
- Proficiency with back-end languages with Python and/or Golang.
- Coding experience using AI tools.
- Excellent communications skills, with ability to influence stakeholders and potential customers.
Salary Range:
- $220K – $300K
- Startup Equity (Stock Options)
Relocation and Visa Requirements:
- Strongly prefer candidates that reside in the San Francisco Bay Area.
- Will provide relocation assistance to the right candidate (that resides in the United States).
- Will transfer H1-B and TN Visas (that resides in the United States/Canada/Mexico).
- All candidates MUST reside in the United States.
